Stay in School!
STAY IN SCHOOL Week
(March 27 - March 31)
- Every year, over 1.2 million students drop out of high school in the United States alone. That's a student every 26 seconds – or 7,000 a day.
- About 25% of high school freshmen fail to graduate from high school on time.
- A high-school dropout is ineligible for 90% of jobs in America. Stay in school so you can have the dream job you want. It is worth it!
- A high school dropout will earn $200,000 less than a high school graduate over his lifetime. And almost a million dollars less than a college graduate. Want to be a millionaire? Stay in school!
Make a choice to stay in school:
Monday: Blue and White Day - Show some spirit! - Wear blue and white.
Tuesday: College Day - Aim High and Stay in School! - Wear gear from your favorite college or the college you are aiming to attend.
Wednesday: Superhero Day - Be a Hero and Stay in School! - Dress as your favorite super hero.
Thursday: Duo Day - Be a Buddy and Stay in School! - Dress as a famous duo pair like Buzz and Woody, Mickey and Donald, Mario and Luigi, hot dog and hot dog bun, etc.
Friday: Throw Back Day - In the Beginning! - Dress and fix your hair like you did in kindergarten or elementary school.

New Unit of Study
Mrs. Caldwell's Social Studies Classes
have begun a new unit of study:
UNIT 4
"America's Fight for Independence
and the Creation of a New Nation"
"America's Fight for Independence
and the Creation of a New Nation"
Brief Summary of Unit 4:
This unit focuses on the struggles and success of America’s expansion and their fight for independence. Students analyze the cause and effect of America’s struggles. The United States established a new government and grew larger as more people arrived and lands were acquired. Social and economic differences divided the nation and led to war. Freedom was so important to the colonists; they were willing to suffer terrible hardships to win it. Students leave with an understanding that America began to reunite but would continue to face many challenges.
